9.2.1 Quality of learning resources (10)

A. Availability of relevant learning resources including e-resources and Digital Library (7)

Learning resources including e-resources are available in the central Library of the Institute for study and reference purpose for students, faculty and staff. All these learning resources are useful for the access current events of engineering and technology gaining information, knowledge, acquiring skills and to enhanced thinking and analysis capabilities of the learner. These resources are also useful to improve independent study techniques, developing their life skills and to develop over all personality of the learner. The resources available are from well-known reputed national and international publishers and authors, e.g. Prentice Hall, McGraw Hills, CRC press, Oxford university press, Tata- McGraw Hills, S Chand, Khanna publications, New age International. The details of which are given in table 9.12.

B. Accessibility to students (3)

Library is committed to provide access to library facilities such as reading room, e library, newspaper, book bank to Students

  • Access to Print Material
  • Access to online Material

The facility of open accesses is available to all students, faculty and staff in the library.

Library Borrowers Issuing Ratio:

Issue of Books as per following conditions:
  1. Only one book from the general issue section shall be issued at a time against a borrower's ticket for a period not exceeding 15 days at a time.
  2. The book may however, be renewed on the due date. The book must be produced at the library for such renewal.
  3. If the book issued from the general issue section is not returned by the due date, the library member may be required to pay a fine of Rs.1/- par days.
  4. No dues certificate for T.C. is issued only on returning library borrower tickets/Books
  • Students must present their institute ID card to borrow library items.
  • Each student will be issued a borrower's card against which books may be borrowed from the library.
  • If Student returns the book within week, he may borrow another book

The books issued on Borrow card are other than reference book, encyclopedia and Vishvakosh

Library working Hours :-

Timing: - 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Week days: - 06

Holidays: - Sunday and public holidays

Book Bank facility-

A set of books of respective program is given to the students for the academic year. All books issued from the library shall be returned without failure on or before the last working day of the academic year.

Reading room facility
  • Students are expected to make the maximum use of the library and reading room facilities provided in the institute.
  • Strict silence is kept inside the library and reading room.
  • The library Reading room is kept open from 9.00 am to 4.45 pm on all days except Sundays and public holidays.
  • The identity card is to be produced for entry into the reading room and for the issue of books.
  • Books of reference and rare books will not be issued for use outside the library.
  • A number of magazines and periodicals are available in the reading room. These can be borrowed from the library assistant and must be returned after reading. Students are not permitted to take them out of the reading room.
  • They can read books, periodicals and newspapers during the time
  • There is separate Girls and Boys reading room
  • Tearing of pictures or any other way of mutilation of magazines, books etc. is a serious offence. One who does so may be required to pay a fine or be deprived of the privilege of using the reading room.
Reference section

Reference sources such as Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Gazetteers, Atlases, Handbooks and Manuals, yearbooks and Indices or Abstracts are available in the library to help the student to answers to specific questions, such as brief facts, statistics, and technical instructions; provide background information. Reference sources are made available in the library working hours.

• Adequate number of standard books and journals are available in the library for each program. Students have direct access to library for issuing books, reading reference books, journals, magazines and Newspapers. Program wise details of the learning resources are as follows

In additions to the above mentioned resources, Institute is also providing links to various Open Access resources along with subscribed e-resources through its website. For online journals please go through www.enrichedpub.com for the effective use of these self-learning resources Institute Library & Information Centre established an exclusive E-Learning Resource Centre. This Centre is having latest 10 sets of HP i5 computer systems with 21 inch monitors and headphones, which help the students in their self-learning activity by accessing the online lectures of renowned experts of respective field.

Faculties and students are registered to National Digital Library.
